Ginny’s Blog – End of COLTS = End of Ginny’s Cooking and the Beginning of the Summer

Over the last 6 weeks I have had a lot of fun cooking and working with the COLTS but today was the last day of cooking for me and it feels kind of nice. I loved the cooking part but there is also something really refreshing about meals being cooked for you. So I am excited about not having to cook any more meals, at least for a while. Not cooking also means that I get to take part in skills training.

Today is also the start of skilling training camp. Everyone involved will have the option to choose one of the three skills to specialize in, canoeing, archery, or climbing. We have a couple more people coming so that is really nice. It means that we will have more head instructors for the options this summer which is always nice. I will be taking the canoeing skill which I am very excited about. I have wanted to take some formal training in canoeing for a long time so I am very excited to get the opportunity. Please be praying for good weather as we will all be outside doing these skills.

Camps start in 2 weeks and a couple days and we still have many staffing positions that need to be filled. We are in need of many female counsellors for the first camps. We are short enough that we are needing to be thinking about the possibility of cancelling or changing some of our programs. If you are thinking about it you could be praying that we would get enough counsellors to run all of our programs.

Thanks so much for all your prayers.
