YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!

Jr. Camp was an awesome success and the crown jewels were recovered, and the theif exposed. God was also working in the hearts of the campers and we will continue to pray for those camper who heard the gospel for the first time.

Then, it was our day off in between camps.  Cassandra decided to go play in the creek with her children - sounds like so much fun....when suddenly....splat - she hit a rock and went down, twisting her foot badly. Our history with injuries just before a camp starts is becoming legendary! She climbed the hill and took a break, but the pain began to increase, eventually resulting in a trip to the hospital where a bad sprain was wrapped and crutches were given.  Hmmmm, this could get interesting since the bathrooms are half way up the hill.

One day later, staff arrived for dinner, which her girls graciously helped prepare while she barked orders from a lawn chair with her foot up.  But, alas, this was not to be the end of her trials.  She was bitten by some critter (we suspect it was a spider) and her arm began to swell to about 3 times it's normal size with a significant amount of pain. Ice and anti-inflamatories were given and Cassandra was shipped out home to recoup for a number of days.  We are carefully watching the arm to make sure it was only a reaction to the bite.

So Brian, Zach and Noah are tending the camp, Maddison and Olivia are mothering the three little boys, and Chase, Faith and Evelyn have travelled home to help Cass heal up. We are hoping it will only be for a few days but please remember us all in your prayers as we "divide and conquer" during this time.  Such is the adventurous life of camp!  We bless the Lord of all his goodness to us and His ability to be our healing, our helper, our strength and our joy.
