Mountain Site

FINALLY, THE PICTURES..... BUT.....Another News Report with more trauma!

After a successful camp we should know better than to attempt anything other than "REST" on the days in between.

This mother watched her son (ZACH) fly through the air, summersault with his bike, and crash down the hill with his bike crashing after him just one day after camp ended.  A trip to the hospital, and a dislocated collar bone (which was put back in place with the help of serious drugs, the strength of the doctor ability to reef on it, and a praying family back up the mountain.) Now Zach will wear a brace for two weeks and all should be well, but unfortunately (or fortunately - depending on who you are, and your perspective) no more mountain biking in the next few weeks.   Now I am just trying to get my head around letting Chase be a camper next week.  But .....lessons learned.

#1. Rest in between camps. Youre tired, even if you don't realize it.

#2. You cannot let fear rule; no matter what happens.  God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of a sound mind. (This mother refuses to fear. My children belong to God, as does our lives, our time and our journey.)

#3. Use that sound mind that God has given you to make wise decisions. (Like maybe not biking down the chicken run when you are tired!)

We are grateful to God for his protection and love.  We are thankful for a successful mountain bike camp; God's word and work in campers lives, and His continued provision of faith for our every need.

To those of you who pray for us.....please keep it up. I've got one in a cast, another in a brace and I, myself was on crutches so......we certainly appreciate your prayers.  I suppose the ratio of injuries goes up because of the sheer size of our family, and all the outdoor activity can add to it...but, as Luke said to me the other day, "I just love it here, mommy!"
