February Prayer Letter

Hello, happy February !!

Bright sunshine fills the room as I reminisce of past summers and reflect on the days/months leading up to the next one! My mind is overflowing with fond memories; my heart is warm with thoughts of so many, too many to name, people who love and support the ministry at Crow. Your heart is huge; we so value and appreciate your passion. Thank you so much for all you do – for your prayers and the many other expressions of support. We consider you a gift from our faithful Father and God, our Strength and Provider.

The busy days of Feb:

  1. Preparing for Reading Break Camp, for post-secondary students, Feb 15-19 (there is still room for students to register)
  2. COLTS selections being made for training that begins the first of May.
  3. Preparing for Sr Reunion Weekend, Feb 26-28 Ruth Calder is the program director, Jeremy Light is the speaker (we still need counselors for the weekend)
  4. Getting summer camper brochures and registration forms printed and ready for mailing – off to the post office on March 1st.
  5. Ongoing communications with people concerning their possible leadership at camp this summer. We still need to fill 4 program directors, 6 speakers, pit crew leaders, all-summer worship coordinator, and all-summer multi-media person.
  6. Beginning the process of filling other volunteer positions: head cook, cook, dining room, dish pit, maintenance, nurse, outtrip director, counselor
  7. Our website is getting a new look: we are not directly responsible for doing the work, but we are helping as needed and excited to see the finished product!
  8. Work is continuing to be done at the construction site of the new kitchen/dining room/ chapel building. Next step is putting the walls up; foam block & concrete construction. Then the trusses, roof, windows and doors. Volunteer help is welcome and even needed.

Interesting FACT: we use between 220 – 250 volunteers to fill 335 positions, from May 1 thru Sept 6. (this is not including the folks helping out with the new building!)
Rather than spell out each prayer request – I am going to let you read between the lines of all the above things. If you want clarification on any of this – questions, concerns, comments – please get in touch with us by phone, email, facebook or a personal visit. We would love “talking” with you in any of those methods!
