A Merry Crow Christmas

It’s hard to believe another year is almost over! As I look back over this past year at Camp, I praise God for the many ways He has shown Himself to be true, steadfast, compassionate and trustworthy.  While we have seen changes at camp, our God does not change!

This past summer, we had the joy and privilege of seeing over 570 campers come share time with us at camp and to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ!  We enjoyed sharing meals in our new dining lodge, and getting to know so many amazing volunteers.  It is staggering to consider the number of volunteers who minister with us each year – Cooks, Program Directors, Counselors, Speakers, Dish Pit and Dining Room Hostesses, Child care workers, and the list goes on.

We are grateful to those who are behind the scene – the prayer warriors, lifting our needs to God and thanking and praising Him as he responds to those needs; the men and women who sit on the camp board, striving to provide leadership in the direction and mission that God is calling us to and to those who support us financially, sharing with us in this ministry.

In 2011, Crow saw the addition of the new Cornerstone Lodge.  It was completed through the hard work of many hands and the timing could not have been better!  It was time to decommission our old dining hall, which has provided many of us with years of shelter and memories of wonderful meals!  It has often been said, however, that surely it is angels holding the roof up!

This summer, we experienced trusting and waiting as we sought volunteers to come and be a part of camp – whether that was for our lake site, or the mountain site.  On our own, we are not able to fill all the positions each summer requires, yet time and time again, fellow Christians allow themselves to be led to Camp, to serve God and His people, and to rejoice and grow in the experience.  Our God is good and so are His people!

At the end of summer, we had to say good bye to Rea and Sandy.  While it was hard to realize God was calling them to other places, we know others will appreciate and be blessed by them as much as we have!

We are currently in the process of finding our new Director of Camping.  Although we may not know him by name yet, I have every confidence that God will place the right person for this position before us.  We desire your prayers in this!

Philippians 4: 6-7 reads: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.  IF you do this you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful that the human mind can understand.  His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

During this Christmas season, may each of you experience God’s peace!
