Our Training Programs

COLTS

Crowsnest Outdoor Leadership Training School is a 4 month training program beginning the first of May. It is meant to train people to be outtrip directors during the summer camps. We accept a maximum of 6 participants, ages 19 & over. The first 6 weeks is intensive theory & practical training in outdoor skills, leadership, wilderness travel, group management, first aid, and discipleship. Their training includes the following 3 programs where others will join for shorter time frames. The remainder of the time is experiential training, with on-going feedback.

PIT Crew

PIT stands for PERSONNEL IN TRAINING. The PIT CREW at Crowsnest Lake Bible Camp is an important part of our staff team and like the race team, will be required to "get their hands dirty." The program involves hard work, but then, that's what it takes to win the race!

The PIT CREW experience will:

  • provide you with the opportunity to live, learn and grow in a small group atmosphere under the supervision of quality leaders.challenge your thinking, living and work.
  • give you an opportunity to test and develop your leadership skills.

For further information and application forms, please contact us. All applications must be received by April 15.

Program Director Training

This traditionally happens the first weekend in May. We encourage all current and future program directors to attend. It is a time for learning practical steps you can take in preparing a camp program, sharing ideas, doing some fine tuning of your own program.

Skills Training

Offered (in mid-June, this is one week of intense training in one of the main skills we offer to campers (rock climbing, canoeing, archery). Our goal is: preparing people to be head instructors in that skill. Training in all three skills runs simultaneously.

Training Camp

Something we believe all our volunteer staff would benefit from attending. It introduces you to Crow, it’s philosophy, ministry, expectations and even “traditions”.
