Crow is committed to training our staff and volunteers well. We have a few upcoming opportunities to participate in training that we wanted to let you know about. Our training all takes place at camp and is free of charge for volunteers and open to the community for a small fee. Equipping our staff with skills and tools to serve well in the summer at Crow and in their communities at home is very important to us!

Here is what we are offering this Spring.

Standard First Aid: April 23-24

        Possible June date TBD

Mental Health First Aid: Adults who Interact with Youth: June 11-12

Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with the young people in their lives.

Outcomes for participants undertaking an MHFA course:

  • Increased awareness of signs and symptoms of the most common mental health problems

  • Decreased stigma related to mental health

  • Increased confidence interacting with individuals experiencing a mental health problem or crisis

  • Increased help actually provided to individuals in crisis or experiencing a mental health problem

Acclimatization Camp: July 4-6

This is an in-house training camp designed to prepare staff for working at camp this summer in all roles. It includes training sessions to equip you with skills and knowledge from how to help homesick kids to the philosophy of camp. It also gives staff a chance to get into the rhythm of living at camp before campers arrive.
