Once I (Bronwyn) won 10 dollars. It was overwhelming, and I cried. So I cannot imagine how Rachel Brouwer felt when she was handed one of those oversized novelty cheques with $45,000 written in the dollar box.

$45,000 seems miraculous; it seems almost impossible. It is certainly a blessing. We rejoice with Rachel!

Rachel feels called to midwifery school and was counting pennies to make it work. And we offer this small piece of advice: Continue to watch the pennies… but prioritize especially keeping an eye on that big pink cheque.

Here’s what Rachel said about her unexpected win:

“God is a God who answers prayers, and most of the time it happens in ways you would have never imagined or thought possible! Today was one of those days; God has answered my prayer in a way I never imagined.

I have applied for a missionary midwifery school in the Philippines and I have been trying to figure out how I would be able to save up enough money to pay for my school. It has been something I have been worrying and thinking a lot about. But I was reminded by my cousin: if this is something God has for me, He will make a way.

I need to just trust Him to provide.
